Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 July 2026

These terms govern your use of bossmaps.co.uk (the "Service", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

BossMaps helps you find local cornershops and convenience stores, get directions, save favourites, and read/write reviews. Shop data comes from third-party map providers and from shops submitted by our community of users, and is provided "as is" — see Section 8.

2. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your password secure.
  • You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • One account per person. Don't create an account to impersonate someone else or a business you don't represent.
  • You can delete your own account at any time from the account menu in the app, or ask us to do it for you by emailing hello@bossmaps.co.uk — see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

3. Community content

When you submit a shop, suggest an edit, write a review, or file a report, you confirm the content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, and moderate that content as part of the Service — you keep ownership of what you write.

We may edit, reject, or remove any submitted content (including reviews) at our discretion, without notice, particularly where it's inaccurate, abusive, spam, or violates these terms. Don't submit false shop information, don't scrape or automate submissions, and don't post content that's defamatory, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights.

4. Shop information & delivery links

Shop details (hours, phone numbers, delivery links, etc.) are supplied by third-party map providers, our community, or — for Verified shops — the shop owner directly. We don't independently verify this information and can't guarantee its accuracy. Delivery-platform links (Deliveroo, Just Eat, Uber Eats) are outbound links to third-party services we don't control or endorse; any order you place is a contract between you and that platform/shop, not with us.

5. Verified badge subscription

Shop owners can subscribe to a Verified badge for £9.99/month per shop, billed and processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise recurring monthly billing until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account's subscription management screen — your badge and Verified benefits remain active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, after which the subscription ends and is not renewed.

We rely on you to have the authority to manage the shop listing you're verifying. We may remove a Verified badge and refund the current period if we determine a subscription was taken out for a shop the subscriber doesn't actually own or represent.

6. Your right to cancel (cooling-off period)

As a consumer in the UK, you have a legal right to cancel a new Verified subscription within 14 days of subscribing, for a full refund, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Because the Verified badge activates immediately when you subscribe, by completing checkout you're asking us to begin the service straight away — if you then cancel within the 14-day period, you'll be refunded for the unused portion of that period rather than the full amount. To cancel within the cooling-off window, email hello@bossmaps.co.uk or use the in-app cancellation, and mention you're exercising this right.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to: break the law; harass, defame, or impersonate others; upload malware or attempt to compromise the Service's security; scrape or bulk-extract data; or interfere with other users' use of the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

8. Disclaimer & liability

The Service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that shop information (including opening hours, location, or availability) is accurate, complete, or up to date — always check with the shop directly if it matters. Never use the Service in a way that distracts you while driving.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, or for the accuracy of third-party shop data, delivery-platform links, or content submitted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability that can't be limited under English law.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Terminating your account doesn't cancel an active Verified subscription — cancel that separately (Section 5).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
